Learning

This is the 4th month of my blogging adventure, and I have so much to learn. I begin to feel like a child again, and that’s exactly how I feel each time I start learning something new. And I realised how brilliant God is to allow older people (like myself) have a sense of newness when their minds wander up a fresh learning path.

God wants His children to relate to Him as a child would to his earthly father. His word, spoken by Jesus, states, “Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.” (Mark 10:15) Approaching God’s word with a know-it-all attitude will not open our hearts to accepting Him as our Father and Higher Authority in our lives. He holds authority over all people, Christians and non-Christians, for He is our Creator and He is in control of our lives and everything in this world.

As a child of God, I have an opportunity to approach God’s Word with the heart of a child ready to learn something new. As I wake up in the morning I am always eager to see what new tidbit of wisdom I can learn from God’s Word and apply to my life. I get excited to see some better way of expressing my thanksgiving and adoration to the Lord when I do my morning devotions, and I desire all of my learning everyday and throughout my days to be touched with the freshness of His love for me.

How do you feel the Lord touches your heart as you walk with Him each day? Do you approach your bible reading, quiet time with Him, morning devotions or whatever you call it, with the heart of a child eager to learn from your Father in Heaven and ready to receive the gifts your Father has for you?
