Afternoon Tea at the Royal Horseguards Hotel

Situated in London’s political hub amidst Whitehall Court, Royal Horseguards is one of London’s landmark hotels. It is steeped with formidable history and remains one of the city’s best kept secrets. The building is known for its use by the  Secret Service and the original Scotland Yard during the First World War. Langham claims to be the first London hotel to serve Afternoon Tea to its guests since its inception in 1865. It is the first grand hotel in Europe and although it was damaged by The Blitz during the Second World War, it was completely restored to its original Victorian grandeur. An English friend of mine once explained to me that, unlike the health club where we both belong to, there are clubs that you don’t have to pay any money and there are no rules or committees.
